Importance of the HEP program: Jemma Tab

Introduction:
Hey everyone, my name is Jemma Gallio and I was born in Lamoille, Nevada which is about 30 miles outside of Elko. Only about 50 people live out there and everyone knows everything about everyone else which is basically how it is in all of Elko County. I live on a 10 acre plot with just my mom, dad, and me. I am an only child but I have enough animals to keep me company. My hero is my Grandpa and he is probable the most amazing person in the world. Family and friends are very important to me. Zoe, Katie, and Kayleen are my three best friends and I don't know what I would do without them. I love to be outdoors and work on the ranch. I used to show horses and was breaking my colt and will still during the summers but have to focus on school for now. I am "an up for anything" kind of person and I believe in trying everything at least once. My favorite season is winter because of snowmobiling, snowboarding, lion hunting, and anything else you can think of. I try to keep myself constantly busy either with work, or just an activity, I can't stand sitting around.

I am a fresman here at Boise State University, this week I am majoring in Enviromental Studies with a minor in Journalism. I don't have a specific career picked out but I do know that I want to have a job that I love and to get to that I want to with kids and/or animals and be outdoors at least part of the time. I am sure my major will change and I will figure out the specific career soon enough, I am not in any rush considering this is my second semester. Someday I am going to travel the world and help children in foreign countries, my friends and I have a plan to start doing this the summer of our junior year. My other dream is to someday buy a place for my parents where my Mom can have stables for racing and training thoroughbreds and Dad can farm. These things won't come just simple and easy but I know that I can get it done. Looking forward to this semester in English 102!
